The standard housing is cast iron construction with the gate made of stainless steel.
Pipe size connections from 4” to 12” with standard ANSI 150# flange drilling. The unit is offered either manual or air operated. There is an optional electric pneumatic operation.
Optional materials of construction include all stainless steel, aluminum and other materials upon request.
Meyer Swing gate is gas/dust tight to 22 PSI (1.5 bar abs). Temperature range:-40°F to 570°F with elastomeric seals, to 1500°F with metallic seals.
The Swing Gate is designed for reliable feeding and discharge of dry free flowing bulk materials. The Meyer Swing Gate provides complete shut off, metering and feeding. It is capable of cutting through a standing column of material.
Each unit consists of a two-piece housing with a completely enclosed swinging gate that is guided by adjustable supporting bolts (located outside material flow) from the discharge of the unit and sealed at the top of the gate by either an elastomer-type or rigid (hard-type) seal ring. Clearance between the seal ring and gate is .002” with some resistance. Seal materials available are silicon, viton or EPDM dependent upon the application. The standard seal ring primarily used is silicon. Rigid seal rings available are PTFE, stainless steel, etc. Frequency of operation typically is 50,000 cycles with silicon and 600,000 cycles with metal to metal seal.
The Meyer Swing Gate replaces Butterfly valves, and knife gate valves under product silos and hoppers, batching vessels, driers, mixers, coolers, truck unloading stations, product filters, feed to packing and bag filling etc. |
